No monkeys were harmed in the picking of this tea! Folklore has it that trained monkeys would pick tea leaves from hard to reach trees hanging off cliffs. A winner at the Panama Pacific Exposition in 1915, Taiping Monkey's Pick is characterized by its long, flat leaves with a waffle-like pattern from drying on linen or bamboo mats. It’s also considered one of the top ten teas in China.
