Silver Needle, or Bai Hao Yin Zhen, is widely regarded as the most prized and expensive variety of white teas available because only the leaf shoots (the leaf buds before opening) - hand-picked during early spring time - are used to produce the tea. The tea produces a slightly viscous glittering light auburn brew with evidence of floating white hairs that reflect light. Silver Needle is exceedingly rare and beloved by tea connoisseurs.
