The most popular tea in Japan, Sencha has a unique processing method where freshly picked leaves are steamed before drying, rather than withered first like Chinese teas. The leaves are then heated to remove excess moisture and rolled into a needle-like shape. A blend of the Yabukita and Yutakamori tea variety, this batch comes from Kagoshima, Japan where the tea bushes are covered with a screen to increase chlorophyll production for a more balanced flavor.

How to Brew

  1. Start with filtered water for the best brew.
  2. Use 1 to 2 teaspoons of tea for every 8 oz. of hot water. Adjust amount to your preferences.
  3. The ideal water temperature is between 150-160°F.
  4. Brew this tea for not more than 1 minute.
  5. It can be re-steeped up to 3 times. 
  6. Enjoy!
